SECOND ANNUAL PHILLY NEIGHBORHOOD FOOD WEEK CELEBRATES MORE LOCAL FLAVOR

PHILADELPHIA - Ardent Management presents the second annual Philly Neighborhood Food Week (PNFW),October 10-16, 2010. Center City is not Philadelphia's only dining destination. Experience the rest of the best. See what lies in your very own back yard and discover the true flavor of your neighborhood.

Due to the success of PNFW last year, the event has been expanded to include more parts of the city. The featured neighborhoods now include City Avenue, Northern Liberties, Ogontz Avenue, East Passyunk, Manayunk, West Passyunk, Darby, Penn's Landing, and South Street. Participating restaurants in each area will offer prix fixe meal options for $20 or $30 per patron.

PNFW generates awareness and activity for all the locations by working with development corporations, business improvement districts and business associations to successfully position each neighborhood. Its diverse group of sponsors, media partners, and champions include RestaurantReservations.com, Movitas, U.S. Foodservice, Philadelphia Weekly,two.one.five magazine, PhillyCarShare, Philadelphia Status, OpenTable, CityBrunchBunch.com, 95.7 Ben FM, Urban Philly, and Temple University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, just to name a few. Additionally, last year's PNFW garnered press from over a dozen media outlets.

Renee Gilinger, Main Street Manager of East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District said, "East Passyunk saw a ton of new faces in our restaurants during last year's PNFW, and the special prix fixe menu kept the Avenue busy all week."

PNFW was created by Charisse McGill of Ardent Management to showcase restaurants in neighborhoods typically overlooked and underestimated as reputable food centers. PNFW impacts each community's local economy as its participating restaurants experience increased traffic and promote a sustainable dining lifestyle.
"Manayunk restaurants are excited to participate, because it's in the neighborhoods of
Philadelphia where the true treasures are found, from dining, shopping and living." says Howard Moseley Deputy Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation.
