Philadelphia’s musical legacy is a distinctive one, most notably “The Sound of Philadelphia” (also known as “T.S.O.P.”). During the early 1970s, T.S.O.P was created and coined by Rock N’ Roll Music Hall of Fame inductees Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff who paved and led the way for international recognition of Philadelphia’s brand of Soul music. Over the years many performers have come and gone leaving us with legacies. NAS will bring artists together to recapture that feel-good music our great city is known for. The Comeback will continue to capture the essence, ambience, and spirit of good music.
NAS has confirmed invited guests Grammy-nominated Philadelphia artists Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, Jean Baylor, Beanie Siegel, and Kindred the Family Soul. In addition, NAS will honor Ms. Dyana Williams with our first “Profile in Excellence and Innovation Lifetime Achievement Award”. Ms. Williams is a Philadelphia music industry pioneer and mentor whose illustrious radio career, A-List media consulting firm and co-authorship of House Concurrent Bill 509 demonstrates her commitment to excellence and leadership.
“When I came up with this concept I was worried about the response I was going to get. But the ‘brotherly love’ of Philadelphia really came through in wanting to be a part of history and I thank them for that”, said CEO Isaac M. Hamm, III.
